Puri is popular bread that is served mainly as a breakfast. Can be taken as a light meal also.

The semoline helps the puri to stay puffed up for long time . The flour helps to make the dough texture smooth. So its even and easy to roll . The poories don’t puff up if its not even when you roll it.

Ingredients:

Wheat flour: 2

Flour: ½ Cup

Semoline: 1 tablespoon

Yoghurt: 1 tablespoon

Salt to taste

Water : little bit more than one cup

Oil for frying and rolling

Preparation:

Take wheat flour, flour, semoline, salt in a bowl. Mix well.

Then add the yoghurt to it and mix.

Start kneating it by adding water little bit at a time.

The dough should be firm and smooth but should not have extra water. Excess water will soak oil while frying the poories.

Cover the dough and let it rest for about 15 minutes.

Divide the dough into small lemon shape.

Roll the dough. If the dough is sticking put couple of drops of oil on the rolling pin.

Heat the oil in a frying pan on high heat.

Place a small piece of dough in oil and if the dough comes up right away then we are ready to fry.

Place the puri in the frying pan and gently press it. It helps the puri to puff up.

When the Puri is light brown from both sides, take it out.

Enjoy with channa masala or any curry.
