Balti Butter Chicken
One of the most popular chicken dish. The combination of butter, almond and yogurt makes the curry texture smooth and creamy.
Ingredient
- Chicken: 600gm
- Onion: 1 medium
- Tomato puree: 2 tablespoon
- Yogurt: 3 tablespoon
- Cumin seeds: ½ teaspoon
- Turmeric powder: ½ teaspoon
- Chili powder: 1 teaspoon
- Oil: 1 tablespoon
- Butter: 2 tablespoon
- salt to taste
To make a paste
- Soaked almond: 10-12 pieces
- Garlic cloves: 3 big
- Ginger: 1” long
- Cinnamon: 1“ long
- Cloves: 3
- Black pepper: 3
- Green chili: 1
Preparation
- Make a fine paste of the above mentioned ingredients.
- Cut and clean the chicken pieces. Add the paste, yogurt, turmeric powder, chili powder and salt to it.
- Mix well and let it marinate for about 30 minutes.
- Heat a pan. Add the oil and butter to it.
- Add the cumin seeds. When they start sputtering add chopped onions. Fry till light brown in color.
- Then follow with tomato puree. Cook till oil separates..
- Add the marinated chicken and cook on high flame for 3-4 minutes, stirring in between.
- Reduce heat to medium low and cook covered till the chicken pieces are cooked. It will take about 12-15 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
