Traditional Chicken Curry
Chicken curry is one of the most popular recipes for chicken lovers. This recipe is simple with aroma of whole spices.
Ingredients
- Chicken: 800 gm
- Onion: 1 big
- Tomato: 2 medium
- Ginger and garlic paste: 1 tablespoon
- Turmeric powder: ½ teaspoon
- Yogurt: 1 tablespoon
- Garam masala: 1 teaspoon
- Chili powder: ½ teaspoon
- Cumin seed: ½ teaspoon
- Salt to taste
- Oil: 3 tablespoon
- Coriander leaves to garnish
- Green chili to garnish
Preparation
- Cut and clean the chicken. Marinate it with yogurt, salt,turmeric powder, chili powder, ½ tablespoon of oil for about 30 minutes.
- Cut the onion and tomatoes into small pieces.
- Heat the remaining oil in pan.
- Add the cumin seed, bay leave, Cardamom, Pepper, Cinnamon and Cloves to it.
- Follow with the cut onions. Add a little bit of salt and fry till the onions are light brown in color. The salt helps to cook the onion faster.
- Add the ginger garlic paste and cook till the raw smell is gone. This will take about 4 minutes.
- Then add the chopped tomatoes and garam masala and cook for another 3 minutes.
- Now add the marinated chicken and fry on high heat for 2 minutes.
- Cover the pan and cook on low to medium heat for around 15 minutes.
- When done garnish with coriander and green chili.
