Peas Pulao

Simple and easy rice dish with great taste.

Ingredients

Rice: 2 cup

Fresh or frozen peas: ¾ cup

Cumin seeds: 1 teaspoon

Oil: 2 table spoon

Bay leaves: 2

Salt to taste

How to cook

Wash and soak the rice in sufficient cold water for 20 minutes.

Add some salt, 1 tablespoon of oil and bring it to boil.

When the rice is 85% done drain it and keep aside.

Heat the remaining oil in a heavy bottom pan. You can use a pressure cooker also without the regulator or whistle.

When the oil is medium hot add the cumin seeds followed by the bay leaves.

Then add the peas with little salt.

Fry for 2 minutes. Switch off the heat and gently mix the rice to it, making sure the rice does not break.

Now turn the heat to low, cover the pan and let it cook for about 10 minute or till the rice is done.
