Spinach Stir Fry
Spinach(palak) is so nutritious to health that its good if we can include it in our meal often. Here is a stir fry which is so easy to make that you need only few minutes to prepare it, without compromising with the taste.
Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 8 minutes
Ingredients
- Spinach: a bunch
- Onion: 1 small
- Chopped garlic: 1 teaspoon
- Sliced green chili: 2
- Oil: 2 teaspoon
- turmeric powder: ¼ teaspoon
- Mustard seeds: ¼ teaspoon
- Salt to taste (very little as the leafs will be ¼ th in size after cooking)
Preparation
- Wash and clean the spinach properly, so that there is no dirt left. Chop the spinach evenly.
- Chop the garlic and cut the onion lengthwise.
- Heat oil in a pan. When oil is hot enough add the mustard seeds.
- After the seeds crackle add the green chili, then follow with the onion and chopped garlic.
- Stir for 4-5 seconds and then add the chopped spinach.
- Mix in the salt,turmeric and cook on high heat for 2 minutes, stirring in between.
- Lower the heat to medium and cook till done. Takes about 6-7 minutes.
- Serve with plain rice.
