Spinach Stir Fry

Spinach(palak) is so nutritious to health that its good if we can include it in our meal often. Here is a stir fry which is so easy to make that you need only few minutes to prepare it, without compromising with the taste.

Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 8 minutes

Ingredients

  • Spinach: a bunch
  • Onion: 1 small
  • Chopped garlic: 1 teaspoon
  • Sliced green chili: 2
  • Oil: 2 teaspoon
  • turmeric powder: ¼ teaspoon
  • Mustard seeds: ¼ teaspoon
  • Salt to taste (very little as the leafs will be ¼ th in size after cooking)

Preparation

  1. Wash and clean the spinach properly, so that there is no dirt left. Chop the spinach evenly.
  2. Chop the garlic and cut the onion lengthwise.
  3. Heat oil in a pan. When oil is hot enough add the mustard seeds.
  4. After the seeds crackle add the green chili, then follow with the onion and chopped garlic.
  5. Stir for 4-5 seconds and then add the chopped spinach.
  6. Mix in the salt,turmeric and cook on high heat for 2 minutes, stirring in between.
  7. Lower the heat to medium and cook till done. Takes about 6-7 minutes.
  8. Serve with plain rice.
